হে, নিজেকে বস্ত্রে জড়িয়ে নেওয়া ব্যক্তি!

O you who wraps himself [in clothing],

বাংলা অনুবাদ

রাতে উঠে দাঁড়াও, অল্প কিছু সময় ছাড়া।

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -

বাংলা অনুবাদ

তার অর্ধেক, অথবা তা থেকে অল্প কমাও।

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

Half of it - or subtract from it a little

বাংলা অনুবাদ

অথবা তার চেয়ে একটু বৃদ্ধি করো এবং কুরআনকে সুশৃঙ্খলভাবে, সুস্পষ্টভাবে পাঠ করো।

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

নিশ্চয়ই শিঘ্রই আমরা তোমার ওপর একটি অতিভারী বাণী অর্পণ করব।

Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

নিশ্চয়ই রাতের জাগরণ আত্মার ওপর গভীর প্রভাব বিস্তার করে এবং পাঠকৃত বক্তব্যকে সুপ্রতিষ্ঠিত করে।

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

নিশ্চয়ই দিনে তোমার জন্য রয়েছে দীর্ঘস্থায়ী অবিরাম চলাচল।

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

এবং তোমার প্রতিপালকের নাম স্মরণ করো এবং তাঁর দিকে নিজেকে একান্তভাবে নিবিষ্ট করো।

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

পূর্ব ও পশ্চিমের প্রতিপালক; তিনি ছাড়া আর কোনো বিধানদাতা নেই। অতএব তাঁকেই কর্মবিধায়ক হিসেবে গ্রহণ করো।

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

এবং তারা যা বলে, তার ব্যাপারে ধৈর্য ধারণ করো; আর তাদের থেকে সুন্দরভাবে পৃথক থাকো।

And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.

এবং আমাকে ও প্রাচুর্যের অধিকারী অস্বীকারকারীদের ছেড়ে দাও; আর তাদের অল্প সময় অবকাশ দাও।

And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

নিশ্চয় আমাদের নিকট রয়েছে শিকলসমূহ ও প্রজ্জ্বলিত আগুন।

Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire

বাংলা অনুবাদ

এবং এমন খাদ্য, যা গলায় আটকে যায়, আর বেদনাদায়ক শাস্তি।

And food that chokes and a painful punishment -

বাংলা অনুবাদ

যেদিন পৃথিবী ও পর্বতসমূহ কম্পিত হবে এবং পর্বতসমূহ ধসে পড়া বালুর স্তূপে পরিণত হবে।

On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

নিশ্চয় আমরা তোমাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছি এক রাসূল তোমাদের জন্য সাক্ষীস্বরূপ যেমন রাসূল পাঠিয়েছিলাম ফিরআউনের কাছে,

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

অতঃপর ফিরআউন সেই রাসূলকে অমান্য করেছিল; ফলে আমরা তাকে কঠিনভাবে পাকড়াও করেছিলাম।

But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

তাহলে তোমরা কীভাবে নিজেদের রক্ষা করবে, যদি তোমরা এমন এক দিনকে অস্বীকার করো, যা শিশুদের সাদা চুলের অধিকারী করে তোলে?

ইংরেজি অনুবাদ

Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired?

তার সাথে আকাশ হবে বিদীর্ণ, কার্যকর হবে তাঁর দেয়া প্রতিশ্রুতি।

The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

নিশ্চয়ই এটি একটি উপদেশ। অতএব যে ইচ্ছা করে, সে তার প্রতিপালকের দিকে একটি পথ গ্রহণ করুক।

Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.

বাংলা অনুবাদ

নিশ্চয়ই তোমার প্রতিপালক জানেন যে তুমি রাতের দুই-তৃতীয়াংশের চেয়ে কম, তার অর্ধেক এবং তার এক-তৃতীয়াংশ উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকো, আর তোমার সঙ্গে থাকা লোকদের একটি দলও। আর আল্লাহ রাত ও দিনের পরিমাণ নির্ধারণ করেন। তিনি জানেন যে তোমরা তা হিসাব করে রাখতে পারবে না; তাই তিনি তোমাদের দিকে ফিরে এলেন। অতএব কোরআন থেকে যতটুকু সহজ হয়, ততটুকু পাঠ করো। তিনি জানেন যে তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ অসুস্থ থাকবে, আর কেউ কেউ পৃথিবীতে চলাচল করবে, অনুসন্ধান করবে আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ, এবং অন্য অনেকেই আল্লাহর পথে লড়াই করবে। অতএব তা থেকে যতটুকু সহজ হয়, ততটুকু পাঠ করো; তার সাথে পূর্ণ যোগাযোগ প্রতিষ্ঠা করো, পরিশুদ্ধ হও এবং আল্লাহকে ঋণ দাও, উত্তম ঋণ। আর তোমরা নিজেদের জন্য যে কল্যাণ অগ্রে পাঠাবে, তা আল্লাহর কাছে পাবে; তা অধিক উত্তম এবং অধিক মহান প্রতিদান। আর আল্লাহর কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করো। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ পরম ক্ষমাশীল, অত্যন্ত দয়ালু।

Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
